Circular solutions, urban waste management

Our city wants to provide a sustainable, liveable, healthy and attractive living space and environment for its residents, in addition for the businesses and organisations that operate here. Our priority is to reduce the amount of waste generated, to keep materials in circulation for as long as possible and to increase the life cycle and useful life of products.
The collection of household textile waste is a very serious problem and is currently completely lacking. We would also like to improve the collection of bio-waste (as for our experiences, only a few municipalities have separate food waste collection, but even there it is not well-used by households). We would also prefer recycling at local level or nearby, leaving as small ecological footprint as possible.
Collection could be accompanied by residential incentives and awareness-raising actions such as resident card, a points system, where residents could collect points for waste disposal and use them as a discount while using city services.
We would support the modern treatment of urban waste management through a digital city management system, using a stand-alone data-based decision support platform. Our cooperating partners are the city's civil, economic and higher education organisations, as well as a specialist company for digital development."
In Kecskemét, the mixed household waste is collected on weekdays. In our city, selective waste collection is also available for households. Green waste and packaging waste are also collected on a door-to-door basis.
