Lappeenrenta Journal 2
In the second edition of the Urban infra revolution Journal, UIA Expert Kinga Korniejenko provides an overview of the development of the project by focusing on its three main innovative areas: materials, production process and products.

The Journal presents some of the technological challenges faced by the project and identifies the activities undertaken by the partnership to overcome them. Durability of the materials, the use of waste as raw material, the development of the AM technology suitable for innovative composites, as well as the development of geopolymer are some of the aspects tackled by the UIA Expert. 
The second part of the document is dedicated to an analysis of the actions that the City of Lappeenranta and its partners are taking to create the right conditions and lower possible implementation barriers in key areas of the project, such as: leadership for implementation, public procurement, integrated cross-departmental working, adopting a participative approach, monitoring and evaluation, communicating with target beneficiaries, upscaling (UIA challenges).
