Local civil ecosystems are important building blocks of our cities. With a better understanding of the resources and needs of local initiatives, we can build stronger networks, supporting cooperation between different actors. This publication, conceived by UIA expert Levente Polyak to support the transition from the CUP4Creativity projects to the Bartók Quarter Roundtable, is designed to help local governments, civil society initiatives and territorial organisations to build such links. Building on the experiences and needs of CUP4Creativity, as well as the work of the organisations the Hungarian Contemporary Architecture Centre (KÉK), Eutropian and Cooperative City, this publication also provides a collection of good practices and a methodological handbook for local ecosystem building.
