CitiCAP Expert Journal 4: Get an update on what has been happening in the last 6 months in Lahti

Phillip describes in detail how the project managed to win the first award of the Gitex 2019 Smart City series (biggest technology exhibition in the Middle-East). In Philip’s words, the next challenge will be to scale up the PCT and make significant progress on the cycle superhighway, which has experienced some delays.  According to Phillip, a positive signal is that more businesses are engaging in the PCT which will help to reach out to even more citizens.

Finally, Philip looks into the challenges faced by CitiCAP; although progress is very good overall, attention is needed in some of the challenges that cut across all UIA projects: Integrated cross-departmental working, monitoring and evaluation, and financial sustainability.
