BRIDGE Zoom-In: Video reflects conflict between school culture vs. street culture
In the first Zoom-In produced for the BRIDGE project being implemented in the city of Rotterdam we learn about the importance for young people from its most deprived neighbourhood, Rotterdam South, to make the right choice in their education. It highlights how technology is making the choice harder and there are many tempting alternatives in the neighbourhood to drop-out of school and make fast money even if through illegal means. The video provides an overview on the elements of the project and the tools used to reach their objectives.
The UIA will publish a collection of Zoom-In’s from its funded projects annually in a variety of formats including: articles, interviews, videos or infographics. Zoom-In’s are an in-depth look into a specific part of the project allowing us to deepen the knowledge generated by the project concerning the solutions designed and implemented. It provides further information on how to overcome the main challenges related to the experimentation of innovative projects in a real urban setting.
