Huedin is a city from Cluj County, located in the northern edge of the Apuseni Mountains, region of Transylvania, Romania. With a surface of 61.24 km sq, the city of Huedin has a population of 9355 inhabitants. In its urban development challenges, urban regeneration has been prioritised as the main domain that highly demands the realization of projects that focus on disease prevention, so as to increase the level of quality of life, with the aim of increasing the level of satisfaction of citizens by the development of the livability of urban areas in order to increase the retention of the labor force and the attractiveness towards people who have left the city abroad. At the county level, there are certain initiatives to support the regenerative urban development, but strictly at the level of the city of Huedin, such practices are lacking. That is why it is extremely important to support the reframing of conventional urban design and planning techniques through contemporary models and various measures to increase its capacity.

Urban Radiography as an expertise would represent an important key in visualising and understanding the current situation of Huedin that will generate an input for envision the working plan of revitalising the city.
New types of urban planning and designing strategies are expected such as heritage preservation and reuse – public space reactivation and strengthening of services, renewing derelict land, providing new green spaces, improving walking and cycling routes, diversification of economic activities, as well as the facilitation of the optimal infrastructure for the efficient development of economic activities at the city level.
Sustained urban development implementing strategies for these types of measures would allow the consolidation of a dynamic densification and intensification strategies of physical redevelopment – land and buildings, evironmentally enhancing, restorative relationship with the natural systems from which the city draws resources for its substance.
