About this project
Innovative Action description
THE CHALLENGE: to develop a model of attracting and retaining talents in cities losing their socio-economic functions like Stalowa Wola, by creating conditions for the space industry
development.
The solution is original because it uses space industry -currently absent in the city - and innovative because it combines the space industry with experiences of fablabs/urban labs and other more
or less common tools that effectively function in other urban centres as separate solutions and creating thanks to this combination favourable conditions for the space ecosystem development in
the region and the use of talents.
3 key elements:
SPACELAB with Remote Work Center for space industry- scientific and research creative space
SPACE ACADEMY- skills/competences development needed in space industry (i.e. hackathons, postgraduate studies, workshops, competitions, mentoring/advisory, internships)
PENTAHELIX coperation- representatives of: public, educational/scientific sectors, space industry, Space NGO and the youth
CHANGE - Implemented model will lead to:
create a new attractive, modern, multidimensional specialisation of the city related to the space industry and make favourable conditions for its development
enter the hitherto distant space industry, to develop on both scientific and practical grounds and to work on space projects in Poland, Europe or the world
strengthen the perception of Stalowa Wola as a place where young, ambitious, talented people can fully realise themselves
development.

This project is looking for
We are looking for transfer partners that tackle similar problem of eimgration of young talented people that leave the city for univeristies (bigger cities) and never come back. The best if the city has industrial background and there is no major unemployment problem, just the jobs are not so attractive for ambitious and talented people and there is no way of great self-development for those citizens.
Another type of transfer partners we are looking for are cities with good space industry economy and good practices in supporting the buisness altogether with cooperation between authority, business, science, NGOs and the youth.
