EkoPulse: Democratizing Sustainability for All Sectors

About this project
Innovative Action description
EkoPulse democratizes sustainability recognition, mirroring how digital platforms have revolutionized other sectors.
Just as YouTube, Uber, and Airbnb empowered individuals in media, transportation, and hospitality, EkoPulse enables individuals, SMEs, and communities to engage in sustainability—a field long dominated by large corporations.
"What gets measured gets managed." By measuring sustainability across the "long tail" of smaller actors, EkoPulse catalyzes widespread sustainable action. Our platform unites individuals, businesses, and cities within a single framework, generating universal sustainability scores that empower grassroots engagement alongside traditional top-down methods.
EkoPulse leverages advanced technologies:
- AI for fair sustainability scores and automatic content analysis
- Blockchain for transparent, decentralized, and secure records
- IoT devices for real-time data collection where available
Uniquely, EkoPulse rewards positive actions, encouraging engagement from traditionally less sustainable sectors and promoting healthy competition across society.
We will pilot EP on Spanish Canary island of La Palma, showcasing its effectiveness and scalability while enhancing transparency, trust, and collaboration.
The outcome will be a paradigm shift in sustainability recognition. Starting with our Transfer Partners, we aim to expand globally, promoting inclusivity in sustainability efforts. EkoPulse will transform how we measure and achieve sustainability goals, fostering a more equitable approach to socio-environmental challenges.

This project is looking for
We are seeking cities and municipalities that are committed to advancing sustainability at all levels—ranging from SMEs to individual citizens. Ideal partners will have existing or planned projects focused on environmental sustainability, carbon reduction, and community engagement. Additionally, we are interested in partners with experience in implementing innovative digital tools or initiatives involving AI, blockchain, or IoT to improve sustainability metrics. A strong focus on grassroots movements or local businesses is a plus. Our Transfer Partners will help test, validate, and scale the EkoPulse platform, enabling broad access to sustainability certification and recognition systems.
