Construction and demolition waste treatment plant for the regeneration of the “Mazquitilla” Beach

This second Journal of BRICK-BEACH reports on the advancement of the project till March 2019 and focuses on the activities realised in different areas, namely the establishment of the Construction and Demolition waste treatment plant, the process leading to the regeneration of the “Mazquitilla” Beach and the different, engagement and communication activities developed inside and outside the local community.
UIA expert Miguel Lucena explain the innovativeness aspect of BRICK-BEACH and how in this year of implementation the circular economy concepts and ideas had been embedded in the project's partnership. The journal highlights also the different challenges experienced so far, in particular related to the public procurement, environmental authorization and the delays due to the political elections and change in leadership happening at the regional and national level.
