Andriana Stavrakaki, UIA expert for the AIR-HERITAGE project, in this journal edition describes the measures put in place by the City of Portici to overcome the challenges faced while developing and implementing an innovative beyond state-of-the-art Decision Support System, aiming at the design and deliver of smarter policies to reduce air pollution in the city. In this first year of implementation, the most relevant challenges have been identified in the municipality’s internal procedures, the lack of experience in implementing an innovative project, the collaboration with delivery partners, and the engagement of citizens.
