In the latest co-hosted episode of the Cities Reimagined and Urban Voices podcasts, Linde Vertriest working for the City of Ghent and Annelies Sevenant from the Ghent Environmental Front tell us all about their work in the EUI REWILD project.

Text

What if rewilding wasn’t just about greening cities, but about breaking up concrete, shifting mindsets, and letting neighbours plant the future together? That’s exactly what’s happening in Ghent.

Linde and Annelies are driving REWILD, one of the most innovative desealing projects in Europe funded by the European Urban Initiative. REWILD is tackling soil sealing, co-creating urban nature with residents, and testing how cities can shift from pilot projects to lasting systemic change and all the daily challenges with making cities better places.
