About this project
Innovative Action description
Making cities safe, protected and resilient by redesigning urban spaces so that citizens are less exposed to climate change and other threats based on assessments and vulnerability scenarios, by proposing new and innovative equipment, infrastructure and services that can also contribute to the resilience of critical infrastructures and public spaces. By developing and using crisis prevention and management techniques and plans, the project will be supported by specialized training courses for local operators and awareness raising techniques.
Proposal brief description
Challenge: to make European cities safe, secure and resilient.
Territorial context: in Italy, hydrogeological disturbance is widespread and represents a major problem.
Detected need: protection against hydro-hydrogeological and seismic risk.
• Hydrogeological risk, which corresponds to the effects on the territory of exceeding critical rainfall levels along the slopes, The water levels of the minor drainage and rainwater drainage network.
• Hydraulic risk, which corresponds to the effects induced on the land by the exceedance of critical water levels (possible flood events) along main watercourses.
• Seismic risk, which is the measure of the damage expected in a time interval, according to the type of seismicity, resistance of constructions and anthropization (nature, quality and quantity of the exposed goods).
Expected results: implementation of a monitoring and alert system for a technologically equipped and inclusive city in which citizens are involved, informed, aware and active
