The City of Koblenz, Germany
A mayor development is about to take place in Koblenz Oberwerth, a former island on the wonderful river Rhine, now connected to the main city.
The estate is characterised by suburban greenery and river meadows surrounded by the rocky hills and vineyards of the famous UNESCO World Cultural Heritage of central Rhine.
The aim is to redevelop the facility into a mayor athletic centre as it once used to be when Edwin Moses achieved a world benchmark in 400-meter-hurdles in 1983.
The sports park is furthermore one of the few remaining compounds in Europe that integrate athletic disciplines of running, (table)tennis, fencing, climbing, skating, football and others.
An event and conferencing hall lies in the middle.
Our plan involves the redevelopment of the site by showing account to social inclusion, measures of sustainable and digital transition, smart mobility & transportation as well as introducing methods of circular economy, young entrepreneurship, R&D. There is an option to locate smart and sustainable living on former industrial facilities nearby.
