The Santa Luċija Local Council is currently facing an urban challenge related to the ongoing maintenance, preservation, and upgrading of the Chinese Garden of Serenity, a landmark that holds cultural, environmental, and community value. As the garden continues to attract residents and visitors, ensuring its upkeep has become increasingly important to safeguard its unique character and functionality.
The Council aims to explore effective strategies for managing culturally themed public spaces, with a focus on landscape preservation, structural restoration, sustainability practices, and visitor experience enhancement. To achieve this, we are seeking to understand how similar culturally significant gardens or themed parks are maintained and upgraded in other localities, learning from their operational models, maintenance frameworks, community engagement practices, and long-term planning approaches.
This research will help Santa Luċija identify best practices, address existing challenges, and develop a comprehensive plan that ensures the Chinese Garden remains a thriving, well-maintained, and culturally enriching space for years to come.
