Is it possible to evolve towards a model of urban tourism that emphasises environmental protection and the well-being of local communities? With an increasing number of areas that are suffering the tensions of tourism in aspects like access to housing or consumption of natural resources, sustainable management of this phenomenon is one of the priorities on the agendas of European cities. On the occasion of the meeting in Barcelona of European members of the Urban Agenda for Sustainable Tourism, this seminar brings together experts from different fields to discuss models for managing tourist activity today.
Seminar moderated by Georgina Calvo, European Projects Officer at the Tourism Department of the Barcelona Provincial Council.
Moderators: Francesc Muñoz, Josep Rodríguez
Participants: Claudio Milano
The debate will be filmed and available for future reference.
